5th Grade Award Ceremony Dress Code

For 5th Grade Parents!

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Fifth grade graduation will take place on May 23rd. To make it a special celebration, students in 5th grade will be allowed to wear dress clothes on this day.

The following guidelines must be adhered to:
BOYS: Students may wear a dress shirt and slacks.
GIRLS: Students may wear dress pants and a blouse, a dress, or a skirt and a blouse.

Guidelines:
Girls’ tops/dresses cannot be strapless, spaghetti/noodle straps, haltered, or open backed without a cardigan or
jacket on top. Straps must be at least 1 ½ inches in width to wear without a cardigan or jacket. Tops that are
see-through, tight-fitting, or that which exposes the mid-section are not allowed.
Dress/skirt hemlines must meet or exceed fingertips when arms are held straight and parallel to the body.

Short Set Rompers are not permitted.
Shoes—Flip-flops, slippers, and beach shoes are not permitted. No more than a ½ inch heel is allowed.

BOYS AND GIRLS: Jeans, shorts, and t-shirts of any kind will not be allowed. School uniforms are acceptable. (Uniform shorts with a uniform shirt will be allowed.)

The promotion of profanity, obscenity, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gang, wrestling related symbols, or hate type
slogans, etc. are prohibited.
If you have any questions about whether or not an outfit is appropriate, see Ms. Ford no later than Monday, May
16th
.
** If you do not adhere to the dress code, your child will be required to change prior to the award
ceremony or they will not be allowed to participate.
We recognize that you played a major role in your child’s success, and we appreciate your assistance.
