The only known photo of Robert Dozier, the school’s namesake. There is no photo of Frances Dozier found. The Dozier couple were instrumental in hiring a teacher to educate the Black youth in Erath in their own home, and in then in the Beard Congregational Church from 1911-1941.

Reverend B.T. Whitt was the Principal for the RF Dozier School from 1942 until it closed its doors in 1968. He served the RF Dozier school in the dual role of Principal and teacher for 24 years.

The original 1954 Plaque from the RF (Robert-Francis) Dozier school is still at the Dozier Elementary entrance today.

Though no actual full view school photographs were ever located, it is believed this was the structure of the brick school RF Dozier from 1954-1968. This is still part of the original Dozier Elementary structure today. (Office and one single wing.)
