She has a beautiful smile and a goal-orientated attitude.  Although she has faced many academic learning obstacles, she has persevered to become a student earning much better grades.  This accomplishment hasn’t been easy.  After transferring in from another school, she ended her first year at Dozier Elementary in 2nd grade with a very low G.P.A.  With support from our faculty and staff and a lot of hard work, she tackled the mainstream curriculum and progressed each year with a higher cumulative G.P.A.  She is now in 5th grade and so far has earned a 2.75 GPA this year.  She also scored Mastery in ELA and Mastery in Math on her 4th Grade LEAP Assessment last school year.  She is striving for a 3.0 cumulative GPA for 5th grade.  She comes to school every day with a huge, contagious smile and is considered a great friend to her peers.  She is truly an inspiration and a deserving recipient of the Cox Hero award to her administrators, teachers, faculty, and peers at Dozier Elementary.
